I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

This Is Just To Say, William Carlos Williams

The words in this poem so remind me of the summer: ‘the plums in the icebox’; ‘they were delicious’;  ‘so cold’.  Like a drink of cold water.

What poems remind you of the summer?
